Tittle : Art of Stereographic projection.

Outline:

             In geometry, the stereographic projection is a particular mapping (function) that projects a sphere onto a plane. The stereographic projection is a way of picturing the sphere as the plane, with some inevitable compromises. Because the sphere and the plane appear in many areas of mathematics and its applications, so does the stereographic projection; it finds use in diverse fields including complex analysis, cartography, geology, and photography.

Seminar on "Applications of Mathematics"

On 16th Oct 2015, Seminar on "Applications of Mathematics" was held which was lectured by Prof. S. R. Arora, former principal of Hansraj College, DU. Dr. Arora gave various examples from Graph Theory, Assignment Problems, Transportation Problems, Inventory Models and other examples with need of mathematics as its base to solve hard problems with an ease.

Swachh Hansraj - Swasth Hansraj

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, ‘Haritima’- the Environment Awareness Society of Hansraj College organised a cleanliness drive on 1st October in the college premises. Whole team took part in ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan’ and targeted “Swachh Hansraj Swasth Hansraj”- ‘Ek kadam swacchta ki orr’.
