On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, ‘Haritima’- the Environment Awareness Society of Hansraj College organised a cleanliness drive on 1st October in the college premises. Whole team took part in ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan’ and targeted “Swachh Hansraj Swasth Hansraj”- ‘Ek kadam swacchta ki orr’.
The event started with a speech by Society Convenor, Dr. Monika Kaul, she briefed us about our duties and roles in keeping our environment clean. After a little motivation, we began the drive. As they say prevention is better than cure so all those who were part of the drive were provided with hand gloves and poly bags to keep the garbage. Team was indeed honored by the participation of the Principal, Dr. Rama, in the drive. Being a hard core environmentalist, since her very day of joining she has taken immense measures in keeping the college clean. The event ended with the distribution of ‘Thank You’ cards to the Cleanliness Staff of the college. The event pulled off successfully with lots of cheering and happy faces.
